The use of High-Visibility Safety Apparel (HVSA) is strongly recommended—or mandatory—in environments where personnel are exposed to moving vehicles or equipment. HVSA items such as vests, uniforms, coveralls, jackets, pants, hats, and wristbands enhance visibility and help reduce accident rates, particularly in offshore operations.
This presentation is divided into two parts:
- Opticolor Project: Introduction to a methodology developed for determining effective high-visibility colors using image analysis techniques. The project analyzed worksite photographs with basic image processing to identify predominant colors and evaluate their contrast across six HVSA colors, providing a generally applicable framework for selecting optimal safety apparel colors.
- Offshore Industry Insights: The speaker will provide a brief overview of the offshore sector and share personal experiences and guidance on securing employment in this international industry.
