We are excited to announce an upcoming SPE Cyprus Section technical presentation taking place next week by Anton Shkolnyi (Lex – Project Manager).

As the energy sector continues to evolve, this session will explore the strong historical and technical connections between oil & gas and geothermal energy, highlighting how expertise from one domain is actively shaping the future of another.

In this session, our speaker will cover:
—The role of energy transition and its link to traditional oil & gas practices
—The evolution of geothermal technologies, from conventional systems to advanced solutions
—Technology transfer, with a deep dive into drilling and artificial lift systems (ESPs)
—Key operational barriers, including OPEX reduction, pump reliability (MTBF), and seismicity challenges
—Real-world success cases showcasing oil & gas integration into geothermal and commercial projects

About the Speaker:

Anton Shkolnyi studied at Kharkiv National Aerospace University and has been active in the energy and engineering sectors since 2011. Beginning his career as a Variable Speed Drive (VSD) developer, he gained extensive experience across the Middle East and Africa, primarily focusing on surface equipment. Since joining LEX in 2020, his work has centered on R&D and operations, driving innovation through new product development and exploring emerging technological directions.
